Frequently Asked Questions
Music:Is all of the music you carry legal and licensed?Yes. We belong to numerous record clubs, which we purchase high quality sounding mp3s weekly. Many companies simply download music for free which is strictly in violation of RIAA law and more often than not is very poor sound quality. This is an extremely important question to ask any company because if their music isn't licensed and the RIAA finds out then they could have their entire music library seized right before your event! Is your music edited and appropriate?Yes. We purchase 'radio-edited' music and would never play something something offensive to you or your guests. Is your entire music library backed up in case of emergency?Yes. Each DJ has all of their music backed up at all time.Does your music collection cover all age groups and musical tastes?Yes. All of our DJs possess a library of over 40,000 songs that they bring to each and every event. Can we choose music for our event and make requests?Of course! We make sure that your event is 'your' event. We would be happy to play requests plus we have an event planning sheet which covers what music you prefer to be played and what music to not be played. If someone makes a request that you do not have, are you able to obtain request during my event?Yes. Assuming your banquet hall or venue has a wi-fi connection then we can purchase songs on-the-fly and play it within a few short minutes. If they do not have wi-fi, we have the ability to download through a broadband cards assuming their is a cell signal. Long story short- YES!Booking:When should I consider booking a DJ?Generally, you should book as soon as you know your date. Some of our weddings get booked up to 36 months out; moreover, we don't require a substantial deposit and it is fully refundable up to 28 days before your event.Do you do any last-minute bookings? We will always try to accommodate you and your party. It's not uncommon to receive a booking call for a party a week away. Our best advice is to call/email and we will do our best to find someone to perform at your event.Contracts:Do you provide a contact for each event?Yes. We provide an agreement that is fair and protects both parties equally.Performance:Are your DJs interactive? We are as interactive as you want us to be. We are more then comfortable motivating the crowd and we always perform in a professional manner. We are not 'prop djs' and won't be breaking out cowboy hats, leis and blow-up guitars to get your guests on the dance floor. Each DJ is trained to play great music and interact in a way that is professional and appropriate. Some of our clients prefer that we simply play music and seldom get on the microphone; we understand that this is your event and our goal is to make sure you and your guests have a great time. Do you take a break/s during performance?Never! No matter what the event is we are there to play the entire time contracted. Can we extend the contract during the event if more time is required?Yes. We will accommodate any extra time as required. Cost for extra time will be clearly stated within the entertainment agreement. Remember, weddings are a FLAT RATE so no need to worry we will play until the party ends! We are the only DJ company that offers a flat rate, especially for weddings. Will you be appropriately dressed?Absolutely! We always dress to impress; we will discuss attire during the booking process. Can I choose which DJ will perform at my event?Yes. Each DJ has their own personality and we will help match the best one to perform at your event. Will I be in direct contact with the DJ who will be performing at my event?Yes. Our Entertainment Coordinator will give you all necessary information and put you in direct contact with the DJ that will be performing at your event.Have you ever been able to NOT perform or cancel an event?NEVER! In the 10 years of performing we have never canceled or been unable to perform at an event nor have we ever had a complaint! We are committed to making your event perfect and we will do whatever is necessary to accomplish this.Equipment: This could be the most important set of questions you ask! What type of equipment do you use?Hands down we use the best equipment around. The benefit of using the best equipment is self explanatory; however, most DJs don't understand this simple concept. You are spending your hard earned money on a quality DJ, so you deserve the best. Most DJ companies have comparable pricing but they all don't use the same equipment. We have attended weddings and have seen these unfortunate accidents in person: cds skipping or stopping completely, microphones cutting out after a few short feet, computers shutting down, power overloads, any number of nightmares can happen when you use inferior equipment. Below you will a link of the high standard of 2kUL Entertainment'.2kUL Entertainment SampleDo you bring or have access to back-up equipment in case of an act of God?Yes. Not only do we have a full back-up of all of our music we also have back systems available. We intentionally leave several setups available in case of the unforeseen. In our 10 years in the entertainment we have never been able to not perform at an event.Alcohol Policy:We do not drink or take smoking breaks during your event. It's your party, you deserve to celebrate not us.Payment:When is payment due?It depends. At most events we require payment on week before the event; however, if it a an event such as a dance or club night where the payment is made through ticket sales then you can simply pay us that evening. The contract will state when payment is due but we are very liberal and work with you always.Do I need to send you a deposit? The contract will determine if a deposit is required or not. Our weddings require a $100 deposit at time of booking.Do you take credit cards?Yes. We use PayPal so if you wish to pay by credit card then we will bill you through them. What is the policy of tipping a DJ?By no means do we require or expect a tip. There is no gratuity built into our fees. If you believe that your DJ has done an excellent job and is deserving of a tip, then he/she would greatly appreciate it but please don't feel like it is mandatory.
